Im not even talking about cross season coming to an end here. I had an amazing weekend riding. I got out on the road bike for a turkey day ride as well as getting drilled out later in the week by the local fast guys. I rode mountain bikes with some of the best people I could hope for, First with the domestic goddess/total enabler before date night. How much better is it going to get than cruising cherokee parks trails with the lovely bride on a beautiful fall afternoon followed by dinner out and drinks with friends? Greedy me, I spent Sunday morning riding the same trails with Uno(child one). He's our little kymba kid. He's currently building a trail system in the small patch of trees behind our house. I figure you find out who they are and run with that. Hes not a racey kid, but the mountain bike is now his new favorite thing on the planet. How do you top that? you dont, but you come close by taking the cross bike out to ride trails, heckle your roadie friends on the club ride and cause general mayhem with your boys(pseudo-adult version). This went from post to full on face-brag and I'd be truly sorry if I was a better man....but Im not. Cross bikes and mtn bike trails work so well together, full suspension may be overkill in these parts, especially if youre as crappy a rider as me.
We ended the weekend with dinner among our extended biking family...thats just the loose connector between some of the folks, it was really an excuse to send off the weekend with good food and drinks, people you care about and the funniest jam session I've ever been in. 3 guys, 3 guitars and 35 seconds of any song you want. I thought "crazy train" fit right in after "long black veil".
Best guitar solo of the night was by a 2 year old. You have to love a bits n pieces show. I thought the 79 second version of drumz or as we used to call it "hey, lets all go get a beer" was spot.on.

hey, ummm do you know.........

exactly.
Now reality shows its ugly head. The last cross race of the year, off season, time to set goals for next year. Surely something interesting is about to happen.........

In all my years of playing guitar, that's only the second 'impromptu' jam I've had and first at my house. Both of them have involved Brian Segal. Hmmm.
Oh... and my word verification is premat. Is that premature for premature?
how is premature different than immature? does it imply definite maturity down the road?
impromptu jams are the best, and abbys got chops!!!
plus TallGirl said something about having to sing for our supper.....
Bits 'N Pieces. The best parts of 100 songs in 30 minutes or less.
wish I'd stayed for more than the first 2 songs. Next time! but it has to not be on a race day.
i think we need to add some speed metal and some early c,s,n&y never leave out the y thou
