Cross Goes Mainstream?

As has been reported here and elsewhere, the May edition of Men's Journal, features a fashion shoot with Jeremy Powers, Tim Johnson and friends. you can find a link to the article here
Men's Journal

So when the most punk rock form of bike raccing gets a fashion spread in a respectable magazine, what do the hard core think? on the one hand, its a fashion shoot, I mean how punk rock is that?
On the other hand, this doesnt need to be so indie and inside that noone else should share in it. I remember when R.E.M. got a major label deal. All the hipper-than-thou folks dropped them like a hot potato. Shouldnt they be able to make a living? When something that seems like its ours gets shared we see who can play with others in the sandbox if you will.

Play well. It may be fun to be an O.G. to something that gets huge, or if not an early adopter at least an earlier adopter. I know that the guys who had been doing this for years when I stumbled across it welcomed me in and helped me learn the sport, the equipment, all of it. With a new cross park coming, worlds coming, its all going to get crazy. Here's your chance to practice sharing our little secret obsession with others who may get it differently.

At the very least it'll be entertaining.
