Wilderness loop invasive species under attack by Olmsted
3 Words... no, no wait, we didnt do it this time. See the real story below. Wilderness loop invasive species under attack by Olmsted check it out on the KYMBA website
Im curious to see what the total plan is for this area. We've always known that these were "rogue" trails if you'll pardon the phrase. The question is what the DOT plan is, and how does it impact long term access to this area. This is why you and I are members of KYMBA, as they are our voice in these matters. To anyone reading this that is impacted, go join @http://kymba.org/louisville/ or bitch no more. I believe this may play into the race location for the Short Track series as well.
Agreed on the DOT area. If they leave the honeysuckle on that side of the line it'll just creep back across.
I haven't spoken with Billy directly, but I have to believe that some sort of native vine or lots of small, dense trees will have to be planted in the area for the trail to get anywhere near it's previous mileage.
Olmsted doesn't currently plan to remove the honeysuckle on DOT property. DOT doesn't have any issues with the trails on that property. Currently plan is to improve rather than rebuild. So maybe the question is how much work are we willing to put into WL? Personally I would build at Beals Branch over reconstructing WL.

Definitely a, "Holy Shit!" moment when I rode by there yesterday afternoon.
Wow, I don't think that WTL can ever be the same and zig-zag through that tiny space for two miles again with no undergrowth!
